Innocent Until Proven Guilty
We were shopping at a boutique and Kambree and Brynlee were each carrying a dollar in their hand. About every 5 minutes Burt would ask the girls to show him their dollars to make sure they hadn't lost them. We were looking at some clocks when Brynlee walked up with 3 pink purses and a tutu in her hands, but no dollar. We were looking around for her dollar when Kambree grabbed Burt's hand and said, "Come on Dad, come on, I'll show you where Bryn's dollar is at." Kambree took the lead and pulled Burt by the hand up an aisle, around a corner and down a hall and then stopped right in front of a woman. She said, "There she is Dad, that girl took Bryn's dollar. Then Kambree turned to the woman and said, "You took my sister's dollar." The woman, who happened to have a dollar folded up in her hand, said, "No honey, I don't have your sister's dollar." Kambree said, "Yes you do, I saw it." She said, "Sorry hon, I don't have your dollar." Burt apologized and they walked away. He found me in the store and told me what happened. Neither one of us could believe that this woman would take a two year olds dollar and then lie to her sister that she didn't have it. Especially since they could see it in her hand. As we stood there passing judgement on this woman, Brynlee bent down, unzipped one of the purses she was holding and pulled out her dollar! Oops, lesson learned!
